"War may begin in a single mind, but it ends in the memory of everyone."
A man late to everything, yet his memory arrives at places before he does. A hanged girl haunts him in his dreams, and he haunts her in reality. A corpse returns from death and offers him a friendship he cannot refuse.
The war leaves the city, but it remains in memory — so no one returns as they once were, and some do not return at all. In a city trying to reclaim its soul from death and ruin, he comes back to find that the places he once knew are no longer as he left them, and that it isn't only the streets that have changed.
Amid a heavy waiting, faces bearing the marks of what happened, and everyday details that seem more mysterious than they should be, he tries to convince himself that the ending has already taken place — that the one love story he lived was complete even before it began. But what if some endings are open, and bring him back again to the starting point? What if the same faces reappear in places they don't belong? What if some things leave a mark that never fades, even after they vanish?
And who truly survives... the one who came out of the war, or the one who never left it at all?
